Guidelines for Playing at The Golf Connection

This is a self-supporting site, and we have only two objectives, and two restrictions:

Objectives:

1. We want to provide a place where you can play in tournament events, and at the same time, have fun playing the Links golf game. If you have a good time, you will join up and subscribe to TGC.

2. You provide the cannon fodder for our events! That is, you make the tournaments better for everyone by enlarging the playing field.

Restrictions:

1. If you elect not to subscribe, then the points, handicaps, and all that stuff that we will be tracking for Members, you will be left out. Once you subscribe, you become a part of it all, but you cannot be retroactively included for months during which you were not a paying Member.

2. Non-subscriber names will be withheld from the final round leaderboard. The honor of winning a tournament belongs to Members. Your scores will appear for the first 3 rounds, and you can certainly see for yourself how you stack up against the competition, but for the Membership to see your 4th round score, you have to subscribe.

The Golf Connection will be referred to in these rules as “TGC”. Click on the Join link on our front page, and you will be taken to our “Join The Golf Connection” membership form. Fill out the form, and at the bottom, click on the [Submit] button, which will take you to our secure PayPal screen, where you can purchase either monthly, semi-annually or annual memberships.

A “paid up” membership in TGC will be required to accumulate points in our tournament events.

No nicknames will be allowed on the TGC leaderboards; therefore, the player name you use in the game, must be your first and last “real name”. ie. John Smith A (amateur player), John Smith P (pro player), John Smith C (champ player).

All rounds need to be played using the TGC launcher program. You can download this program on TGC’s Software page.

At the conclusion of a round, the game will automatically attach a VER file if the round was played fairly. We cannot accept rounds without a VER file. No VER file, no score.

Regular tournament events at TGC open at 9am EST on Monday. These tournament events close at 8pm EST on Sunday evening, at which time, the leaderboards are shut down.

Our leaderboards update very quickly, so you should be able to see your score posted in just a few minutes.

Handicaps will be calculated in the PGA Tour ONLY. After a player has completed four events (16 rounds), his handicap will start to be calculated, and it will begin appearing in the handicap points pages.

NOTE: By submitting a round, you are authorizing TGC to publish the info contained in the game data.

We look forward to seeing your name on the Leaderboards.
