 | Baines Gets 6 Hits Friday, September 24th, 2010: Harold Baines was unstoppable, but his club, the Amazin' Mets, was not unbeatable. Despite his hitting heroics they lost to the St. Louis Browns 8-6. He battered them for 6 hits in 8 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Baines just shook his head after the game, saying to the BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins... not the most hits." H. Baines singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and struck out in the 16th. Looking at his season stats, Baines has compiled a .256 batting average and a .306 on-base percentage, while hitting 15 home runs and driving in 65 runs. |
