 | Duffy Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 30 Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010: The Las Vegas Expos got more than a 10-0 victory over Portland today at Forbes Field. They put an end to Hugh Duffy's 30-game hitting spree by holding him without a hit in 4 at-bats. But it was no big deal to the Gladiators shortstop. Duffy seemed to feel more for his team than himself. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit. I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This season Duffy is batting .420 with 267 hits, 12 home runs, 104 RBIs, .448 OBP and has scored 130 runs. |
