Spottswood Poles, the Zzyzx Geodes 25-year-old center fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for National League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 23 at-bats, compiling a .522 average with no home runs and 11 RBIs. This season Poles is batting .274 with 161 hits and 5 home runs.
