 | Anson Sizzles with 30-Game Batting Streak Saturday, September 25th, 2010: The red-hot hitting Cap Anson is riding high with a 30-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 38-year-old Houston catcher continued the streak today at Seals Stadium with 2 hits in 5 at-bats as the Gunslingers got the best of the Seattle Rainiers 9-7. "It's great," one of his teammates said. "To be able to hit behind him and watch him, it's been fun. It's been fun and exciting to watch. Not only fans in Houston, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." C. Anson singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Anson is currently batting .344 with 4 home runs and 69 RBIs. |
