 | Mize Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Monday, September 27th, 2010: If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. At Shibe Park Johnny Mize showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Florida Pelicans. However this great day with the bat didn't pay off in a victory. The New York Black Yankees fell 6-4. The manager of the Pelicans told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames. Luckily we came away with a win today. Mize just didn't get enough help." If Mize keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. J. Mize singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Hitting .333 to date, Mize has 16 home runs and 82 RBIs. He has played in 160 games. |
