 | Snider Goes 5-5 Against Ghosts of '69 Monday, September 27th, 2010: What a day for Duke Snider of the Glen Wilton Evil Do'ers! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Ghosts of '69 pitching apart at Dodger Stadium and sparked the Evil Do'ers to a 11-7 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Snider told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." D. Snider singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. So far this season Snider has hit .293 with 26 home runs, 75 RBIs and and scored 87 times. |
