 | 5-Hit Blitz by Lange Friday, September 24th, 2010: Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Polo Grounds when Bill Lange of Framingham scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Florida Pelicans. He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Rug Rats get by the Pelicans 9-8. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the center fielder of the Rug Rats exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." B. Lange hit a solo-shot off C. Hendrix in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off A. Rusie in the 10th. In his season totals, Lange has 10 home runs, .375 BA, .412 OBP, 75 RBIs and 94 runs scored. He has played in 148 games. |
