| Cross Week's Best Player Monday, September 27th, 2010: Cabrini's Lave Cross would not be denied the National League Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 16 hits in 23 at-bats and a .696 average, made him the clear favorite to win the honor.
"You just go out there and do what you have to do," said Cross, "When I'm up, I try to focus and block everything else out of my mind... and have a good at-bat. I'm up there to get a hit or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. I hope I can win this award every week."
He also tallied no home runs, 3 RBIs and scored 8 runs.
This year Cross has collected a .329 batting average to date with 223 hits in 678 at-bats, 62 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 94 times. He has played in 155 games. | |
