 | Utah Shut out by Pelty Friday, September 24th, 2010: Before the game Barney Pelty liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Wizards pitcher whitewashed the Utah Gas House Gang 9-0. Pelty said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The Wallyworld starter held Utah scoreless, giving up 6 hits while registering 9 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Gas House Gang manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." In 32 starts this season Pelty has crafted a 8-19 record with a 5.19 ERA. |
