 | Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Meyerle Saturday, September 25th, 2010: And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Levi Meyerle. The Titans third baseman got 2 hits in 4 at-bats in today's 2-1 triumph over the Wilmington Powerhouse at Ebbets Field. Meyerle has now hit safely in his last 20 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." L. Meyerle hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and grounded out in the 8th. In 156 games this season Meyerle has batted at a .368 pace with 254 hits and 12 home runs. |
