OLDTIMERS LEAGUE - Trading Rules

1. All trades must be approved by the respective League Presidents as outlined below:

  • Trades involving only National League Teams (Intra-League) must be approved by the National League President.
  • Trades involving only American League Teams (Intra-League) must be approved by the American League President.
  • Trades involving teams from opposite Leagues (Inter-League) must first be approved by both League Presidents, before sending them on to the League Office for final approval.
  • Trades involving a team owned by a League President, must be sent to the League Office for approval.
  • Trades involving a team owned by the Commissioner, must be approved by both League Presidents.

    2. There will no restrictions on the makeup of a trade!

    3. Managers may trade any draft picks they have available.

    4. Managers repeatedly failing to comply with these rules will be subject to removal from the OTL.

It is a matter of respect and courtesy that Managers reply to trade offers in a timely fashion. A "timely fashion" will be within 48hrs. That means when Manager A sends a trade offer to Manager B, Manager A can expect to hear back from Manager B with 48hrs. I don't think replying within 48hrs is asking too much. (Keep in mind that we have always expected Managers to be "active"... within reason.)

Any disputes, disagreements or any other problems regarding trade negotiations and/or trade offers should be referred to the respective League Presidents.

Trading is permitted until July 31st. Thereafter, all trading ends. For multiple-player trades you will need to use the League Trading Form. For simple trades, an email stating who you received, and who you gave up will suffice.

    TRADES WITH THE COMPUTER TEAMS
During the season, if there are any computer controlled teams, trades may be initiated as follows:

  • The manager sends an e-mail to the computer team he wants to trade with.
  • All e-mails to computer controlled teams come to the Commissioner's Office.
  • The Commissioner will confer with the two League Presidents, and make the announcement as to whether or not the trade is approved.
