Friday, September 24th, 2010: Ripper Collins of the Vancouver Occidentals had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2010.
The 34-year-old first baseman put up a .426 average and a .519 on-base percentage, piling up 226 hits, 33 doubles, 1 triple, 92 home runs, 246 RBIs and 211 runs scored. |
 | Cummings Wins National Division Pitching Crown
Thursday, September 23rd, 2010: The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2010 has been presented and the National Division winner is Candy Cummings of Hamden.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Cummings. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Red Sox star told reporters.
Cummings excelled with an impressive 26-4 record in 30 starts. In 242 innings he yielded 199 hits and 20 walks, while striking out 209 and compiling a fine 1.97 ERA. |
