 | Blanchard Blasts 3 out of the Park Saturday, September 25th, 2010: It was a good day for Lafayette and an exceptional day for Johnny Blanchard. The 32-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Shoe Salesmen beat the Zzyzx Geodes 9-8 at Baker Bowl. Following the game, he was asked about his performance. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Blanchard commented, "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. J. Blanchard grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off W. Dismukes in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off D. Eckersley in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off E. Walsh in the 8th. A look at his season totals shows Blanchard with 35 home runs, .269 BA, .293 OBP, 94 RBIs and 98 runs scored. |
