Wednesday, September 29th, 2010: Paul Waner put up some astounding numbers in 2010. When the smoke cleared, he had put up a scorching .400 average for the season. Waner, 28, racked up 220 hits, including 41 doubles, 12 triples and 5 homers. He also chipped in 69 RBIs and scored 74 times.
"To hit .400, you have to block out a lot of stuff," said the Shoe Salesmen right fielder. "You can't let a slump get hold of you, you can't get tired of the press coverage, you have to be focused on every pitch. And you sometimes have to be a little lucky." | |
