Thanks to the 5-hit pitching of 36yr old William "Willie" Foster, and a 9-1 win over the New Canaan Brown Bombers, the Syracuse Amazin' Mets are the 2009 OTL Champions. Every player in the Mets lineup had at least one hit, and three different batters each drove in two runs. CONGRATULATIONS TO SYRACUSE!

With one out and runners at second and third in the top of the ninth, Jackie Robinson tripled down the right field line, and New Canaan sends the 2009 OTL World Series to a seventh game with an 8-6 win over Syracuse. Tommy McCarthy had three hits and scored twice for the Brown Bombers. For the Amazin' Mets, George Kell had three hits and drove in three runs. Nick Altrock and William Foster will face each other tomorrow in the Series finale.

Starting pitcher Al Brazle drove in two of his team's four runs, and New Canaan put aside elimination by beating Syracuse 4-1. Coolpapa Bell had two hits and Jackie Robinson also had two hits and score two runs for the Brown Bombers. George Davis had two hits for the Amazin'Mets. After a day off tomorrow, the Series goes back to Syracuse on Friday for Game 6.

Syracuse takes a 3-1 lead in the Series behind the 6-hit pitching of Elmer Steele. The right-hander walked one and struck out six. Buck Ewing went 3-for-3 driving in two runs, and "Dirty Jack" Doyle had three hits and scored two runs for the Amazin' Mets.

Syracuse jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, and never looked back enroute to an 11-5 win over New Canaan, and a 2-1 lead in the Series. George Davis and George Kell each had four hits, and Jake Stenzel had three hits for the Amazin' Mets. Bruce Petway and pinch-hitter Jimmie "Ace" Wilson Wilson each drove in a pair of runs for the Brown Bombers.
